A momentous occasion in Maltese history comes alive in this staging of the epic battle of the Siege of 1565 in this exciting musical medieval dinner show located less than 5 miles from Valetta.

The Knights Spectacular Dinner Show is a 2-hour live dinner show that revolves around the Great Siege of 1565 when the much smaller Maltese military and island knights defeated an Ottoman Armada of 40,000 men. The story is told with a cast of 50-plus performers, live horses, an original musical score, staged battles and multiple dance routines.

The Knights Spectacular Dinner Show is a non-stop, action-packed show that features the clamour of battle, swords clashing, cannons booming and muskets firing. Horse displays and cavalry charges alternate with fierce assaults and hand-to-hand combat. The glint of medieval armor, the colorful banners of the Ottoman Turks, the smoke of battle and the flaming torches heighten the tension and dramatize a nation's struggle for survival.

You'll be treated to a tasty dinner in luxurious surroundings as high drama laced with the romantic love story of Pawlu and Dulcima unfolds live, before your very eyes.

The Story

A festive occasion in May 1565 during which peasants dance and sing with much merriment takes a dreadful turn when the mighty Ottoman Armada storms Malta for battle. The Turks don't expect much resistance, but the small Maltese military puts up a staunch defense. Confused Ottoman troops retreat after months of war that they expected to only last several days.

Meanwhile, love blossoms between a Maltese girl named Dulcima and a Maltese soldier named Pawlu. As the bells of victory announce a return to freedom and peace for the Maltese people, Dulcima and Pawlu are united in a festive marriage.

Classic ballet underlines the romantic moments of tender love and innocent romance, while contemporary pieces vividly explore the raw violence of battle and the frightful hardships of war. Lighthearted folk revelry and the sensuous swaying of harem beauties paint, in vivid colors, the ethnic differences of east and west.
